Jacque Fresco – Money Corrupts Our Bond with Nature

Jacque Fresco - Money Corrupts Our Bond with Nature | Third Monk image 2

Jacque Fresco of the Venus Project gives a talk on how the monetary system prevents society from progressing into the future.

Connection with Nature is the Most Important Human Relationship

All people would be trained or educated to understand our relationship to nature. If you violate that relationship, it won’t work. All man made laws are artificial. We have to study our relationship with nature:

If we damage the air, we damage ourselves.

If we damage the oceans, we damage ourselves.

If we cut down the forests, we damage our ability to maintain health.

Profits of Corruption and War

As long as the monetary system survives, you’re going to have problems. Money, yes it does produce incentive. It also produces incentive for corruption, embezzlement, taking care of your friends, and taking care of yourself.

When people seek advantage by money, you can’t have a decent world. When you have wars and people make billions of dollars off submarines and aircraft carriers, then war becomes a terrific business.

A Future Without Waste

People would study whatever they want. There would art centers, music centers, cultural centers open to everyone, without a price tag. There would be:

No Banks

No Investment Brokers

No Advertising

No Commercials

No Armies

No Navies

No Prisons

No Police

When people have access to the necessities of life, they do not steal.

If you don’t understand, imagine people living near a big water fall with lots of fresh water. No one comes at night to steal water.

Legalization of Marijuana took a step in the right direction as voters in Colorado and Washington have become the first states to legalize and regulate marijuana for recreational use. A huge victory for drug law reform advocates, and a massive win for everyone in general. The positive reaction on Twitter came from a diverse set of people, a good sign that cannabis is outgrowing the shackles of misinformation and propaganda.

George Carlin, Jacque Fresco – Children Should Be Taught to Question Everything (Video)

George Carlin, Jacque Fresco - Children Should Be Taught to Question Everything (Video) | Third Monk

George Carlin and Jacque Fresco discuss the dangers of feeding bullshit to the impressionable minds of children.

A Mind Without Questions is a Slave

Bullshit is the glue, that binds us as a nation. Where would we be without our safe, familiar, American bullshit? Land of the free, home of the brave, the American dream, all men are equal, justice is blind, the press is free, your vote counts, business is honest, the good guys win, the police are on your side, god is watching you, your standard of living will never decline… and everything is going to be just fine— The official national bullshit story.

I call it the American okie doke. Every one, every one of those items is provably untrue at one level or another, but we believe them because they’re pounded into our heads from the time we’re children. That’s what they do with that kind of thing—pound it into the heads of kids, ‘cause they know the children are much too young to be able to muster an intellectual defense against a sophisticated idea like that, and they know that up to a certain age children believe everything their parents tell them.

And as a result, they never learn to question things. Children should be taught to question everything. Children should taught to question everything they read, everything they hear. Children should be taught to question authority.

Older Isn’t Always Wiser

When I was a young man growing up in New York City, I refused to pledge allegiance to the flag. Of course I was sent to the principal’s office. And he asked me, ‘Why don’t you want to pledge allegiance? Everybody does!’

I said, ‘Everybody once believed the Earth was flat but that doesn’t make it so.’ I explained that America owed everything it has to other cultures and other nations. and that I would rather pledge allegiance to the Earth and everyone on it.

The Game is Corrupt

Then came the crash of 1929, which began what we now call “The Great Depression”. I found it difficult to understand why millions were out of work, homeless, starving while all the factories were sitting there. The resources were unchanged.

It was then that I realized that the rules of the economic game were inherently invalid.

Shortly after, came World War II where various nations took turns systematically destroying each other. I later calculated that all the destruction and wasted resources spent on that war could have easily provided for every human need on the planet.

I Met the Walrus - John Lennon Blacklisted by the US for Promoting a Peaceful Revolution (Video) | Third Monk

In 1969, a 14-year-old Beatle fanatic named Jerry Levitan, armed with a reel-to-reel tape deck, snuck into John Lennon’s hotel room in Toronto and convinced John to do an interview about peace.

Levitan: John could you please tell us what the situation is with you and your entry into the United States?

Lennon: A lot of people don’t want me in , they think I’m going to cause a violent revolution, which I’m not. And the others don’t want me in because they don’t want me to cause peace either, because war is big business, y’know, and they like war because it keeps them fat and happy. And I’m anti-war so they’re trying to keep me out. But I’ll get in, because they’ll have to own up in public that they’re against peace.

Woody Harrelson – Thoughts From Within, a Stoner Poem on Society (Video)

Woody Harrelson - Thoughts From Within, a Stoner Poem on Society (Video) | Third Monk

Woody expresses his stoner observations on the world, our environment, the government and his hope for change.

Morality is legislated
prisons over-populated
religion is incorporated
the profit-motive has permeated all activity
we pay our government to let us park on the street
And war is the biggest money-maker of all
we all know missile envy only comes from being small.

I sometimes feel like an alien creature
for which there is no earthly explanation
Sure I have human form
walking erect and opposing digits,
but my mind is upside down.
I feel like a run-on sentence
in a punctuation crazy world.
and I see the world around me
like a mad collective dream.

An endless stream of people
move like ants from the freeway
cell phones, pc’s, and digital displays
“In Money We Trust,”
we’ll find happiness
the prevailing attitude;
like a genetically modified irradiated Big Mac
is somehow symbolic of food.

Morality is legislated
prisons over-populated
religion is incorporated
the profit-motive has permeated all activity
we pay our government to let us park on the street
And war is the biggest money-maker of all
we all know missile envy only comes from being small.

Politicians and prostitutes
are comfortable together
I wonder if they talk about the strange change in the weather.
This government was founded by, of, and for the people
but everybody feels it
like a giant open sore
they don’t represent us anymore
And blaming the President for the country’s woes
is like yelling at a puppet
for the way it sings
Who’s the man behind the curtain pulling the strings?

A billion people sitting watching their TV
in the room that they call living
but as for me
I see living as loving
and since there is no loving room
I sit on the grass under a tree
dreaming of the way things used to be
Pre-Industrial Revolution
which of course is before the rivers and oceans, and skies were polluted
before Parkinson’s, and mad cows
and all the convoluted cacophony of bad ideas
like skyscrapers, and tree paper, and earth rapers
like Monsanto and Dupont had their way
as they continue to today.

This was Pre-us
back when the buffalo roamed
and the Indian’s home
was the forest, and God was nature
and heaven was here and now
Can you imagine clean water, food, and air
living in community with animals and people who care?

Do you dare to feel responsible for every dollar you lay down
are you going to make the rich man richer
or are you going to stand your ground
You say you want a revolution
a communal evolution
to be a part of the solution
maybe I’ll be seeing you around.

~ Woody Harrelson

2pac On Income, Class Inequality and the Rich Wasting Resources in Excess (Video) | Third Monk

Because I feel like, you know, it’s too much money here. I mean, nobody should be hitting Lotto for 36 million and we got people starving in the streets. That is not idealistic, that’s just real. That is just stupid. There’s no way that Michael Jackson or whoever Jackson should have a million thousand droople billion dollars and then there’s people starving. There’s no way! There’s no way that these people should own planes and there people don’t have houses. Apartments. Shacks. Drawers. Pants! I know you’re rich. I know you got 40 billion dollars, but can you just keep it to one house? You only need one house. And if you only got two kids, can you just keep it to two rooms? I mean why have 52 rooms and you know there’s somebody with no room? It just don’t make sense to me. It don’t. And then these people celebrate Christmas. They got big trees, huge trees, all the little trimmings, everybody got gifts and there’s somebody starving. And they’re having a White Christmas. They’re having a great Christmas. Eggnog and the whole 9. That’s not fair to me.” – Tupac Shakur

Jacque Fresco Interview on Larry King Live 1974 (Video)

Jacque Fresco Interview on Larry King Live 1974 (Video) | Third Monk

Back in 1974 Jacque Fresco was told he was a man before his time. Observe this Larry King interview and see for yourself. See that he is not a man before his time but a man trying to change the social culture of his time (and for good reason).

This is a new science: socio-cyberneering. And this is its inventor, the extraordinary Jacque Fresco. He’s my guest this weekend on News Weekend. My guest is an extraordinary Miamian: Dr. Jacque Fresco. I could go through all the things that Dr. Fresco has done. He’s a social engineer, industrial engineer, designer, inventor, was a consultant for Rotorcraft Helicopter, Director of Scientific Research Laboratories, Los Angeles, designed and copyrighted various items, ranging from drafting instruments to X-ray units, has had works published in the Architectural Record, Popular Mechanics, Saturday Review, and has been a technical and psychological consultant to the motion picture industry, member of the Air Force design and development unit at Wright Field, developed the electrostatic anti-icing systems, designed prefabricated aluminum houses.
