La Luz (light or enlightenment in Spanish) is a psychedelic surf rock band that produces music Quentin Tarantino would use to score his films. The band consists of lead singer/guitarist Shana Cleveland, Marian Li Pino on drums, Abbey Blackwell on bass and Alice Sandahl on the keys.
The sound of La Luz merges psychedelic rock with 60’s Motown doo-wop, sprinkled with surf and garage rock influences. The melodic vocal harmonies of the group combined with reverb guitar effects and keyboard jingles makes La Luz an awesome soundtrack choice for a psychedelic road trip.
Sixto Rodriguez’s tale is one of the most unusual, sombre, yet incredibly heart-warming rags to riches stories I’ve ever encountered. Incubus is one of the premiere stoner rock bands. From hard rock to hip hop, funk metal to jazz; Incubus has its own special groove embedded within every song.
Incubus is a band from Calabasas, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer Jose Pasillas while enrolled in high school and later expanded to include bassist Alex “Dirk Lance” Katunich, and Gavin “DJ Lyfe” Koppell; both of whom were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore respectively.
